Pilgrim, novelist, & short story writer

The patchwork of corn fields, and orange groves carpeting the borderlands along the river between Mexico and the U.S. is the mortar that holds in place the pebble mosaic of my life:

...the scent of the mock orange blossom on a humid evening; the bird song of the hooded oriole; the iridescence of a stranded jellyfish; the splash of the warm waters of the Mediterranean sea; the fog of England; the vastness of the Yukon.

My Muse

In ancient Greece, the Muses were goddesses who embodied the arts and inspired creation.

However, I take dictation from a crusty old man, lifelong chain-smoker, and curmudgeon. His full ashtray and empty whiskey glass sit on my desk, next to the tall stack of books I've yet to read.

My Work

I've written several short stories. The three I'm most proud of include: "The Limb Exchange"; "Muddy waters of nearby Glens Falls"; and "Delica Mitsu." The latter two were published in my newsletter. My short stories lean toward the absurd fantasy on contemporary life, freedom, adventure, and life-long friendship.

I'm currently querying my first novel.

My Newsletter

In 1916, Sir Arthur Quiller-Couch famously uttered the popular adage "murder your darlings." I've obeyed the killer instinct on many occasions.

I've dug up the graves of my favorite cutouts (or the least decomposed of the bunch), and collected them in my monthly newsletter Las Trenzas de Frida.
